Week 4 - The Hamptons & A Wedding
We got really brave and decided to take Caitie to the Hamptons so we could enjoy the last few summer days on the beach. Caitie did great, and was very good in the car seat all the way there and back. The weather was beautiful and Caitie experienced the beach for the first time. Chris walked her up and down the beach and then we put her in the car seat, covered, so she could sleep breathing in the ocean breeze and listening to the waves. Me & Chris enjoyed the much needed relaxation and lobster rolls!
My cousin Will's wedding was on September 17 so Caitie's Nana and Pap-pap Martin came up for the weekend to take care of her. We decided not to take her since she was barely 4 weeks old and we didn't want her to get sick from all the people who would be breathing on her and passing her around. Not to mention all the noise and the worry that she would cry at an inappropriate moment! Nana and Pap-pap took care of her for two whole days AND two overnights, so me & Chris enjoyed two nights of 8 hours+ sleep...it was AWESOME! Thanks Nana & Pap-pap!

Week 3 - Help Arrives
I thought taking care of Caitie on my own once Chris went back to work would be a nightmare so we asked my mom and dad (aka Grandma & Grandpa Chang) to help out. We also hired a baby nurse, Althea, to help out for a few hours a day from Mon - Fri. I seriously don't know what I would've done without the help!!!!
Mom made me some pig's feet (or pig trotters) and peanut soup which is the traditional soup given to breastfeeding mothers in Taiwan, since it is rich in collagen. It was pretty good! Dad brought us dinner and even helped us put together the bouncy chair and rocker. Thanks Mom & Dad!

Week 2 - Hurricane Irene
We were stuck inside during Hurricane Irene but we weren't going very far anyway. Caitlin did a great job of eating, burping, pooping and being cute. So did Chris.
A couple of days after the hurricane passed we celebrated Amy's big 3-0 at Fishtail by David Burke. It was Caitlin's first dining experience and she was quiet as a mouse. Happy birthday Auntie Amy!

Week 1 - Coming Home From the Hospital
We loved Lenox Hill Hospital on 77th St bet Lex & Park and enjoyed our stay in a private room there. We lucked out and got a room at the end of the hall so we had no foot traffic and a great view of Park Avenue. Chris slept right next to me on a pull out bed. We really enjoyed our family visiting and the lovely gifts of flowers and sushi. Caitlin enjoyed meeting her "fans"! The hospital provided some basic nursing and childcare courses during our 2 day stay and took care of Caitlin while we got some much needed sleep. We thought our stay was too short!

The Beginning - Caitlin Chang Martin
Welcome to my baby blog. I got the idea from my sister and a colleague from work - thought it would be nice to be able to look back on these precious moments with baby. Hopefully I will be good about posting, will do my best!
We welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Caitlin Chang Martin, at 9:28 am on August 20, 2011 on a sunny Saturday. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 3.5 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long. She looks like her daddy but you can tell she's part Asian like her mommy. These photos were taken at the hospital during our stay.
